Goodman-Greenberg Memorial Scholarship

Who is eligible:  REL Senior Band Member

Amount:  Up to $3,000 (depending on applicants)

Application Deadline: May 9th

The Goodman-Greenberg Memorial Scholarship (in memory of Sandra Greenberg Sharpe) is due on May 6th. The Scholarship winner(s) will be announced at the Annual Band Banquet on May 20th.  An official transcript must be submitted with the application.  Applications should be turned in to Mr. Castillo’s office in the Band Hall.

TJC Band Scholarships

Once you have applied to Tyler Junior College, please print and fill out the information request form and fax it back to 903-510-2740. Next, have your band director fill out the band director recommendation form and have them fax it back to 903-510-2740.  All students who are interested in joining the band need to have both forms filled out and faxed to the TJC Band Hall Offices. The TJC band directors will then contact you regarding auditions, scholarships and other important information.

Mount Vernon Music Scholarship

Who is eligible: High school senior from East Texas planning to major in music

Amount: $100-500

Application Deadline: February 1, 2013

Send all materials to: Mount Vernon Music Scholarship Committee, Box 719, Mount Vernon, TX 75457.

Mount Vernon Music Association is pleased to offer a competitive scholarship award to an East Texas graduating senior who is going on to study music at the college level. The intent of the award is to encourage and acknowledge excellence in music performance and academics. The award will be presented at our annual Young Artists Showcase on May 20, 2012.

Applicants should submit by April 20th:

(1) A completed application form, plus application fee ($10 check made payable to Mount Vernon Music)

(2) Three copies of a 10-minute audition recording (CD or DVD) of a recent performance

(3) Two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher at student’s high school, a second from an individual from the community, not related to student.

(4) A short bio for the program at the Young Artists Showcase Applicants must have at least a B average and an acceptance letter from a college or university. The cash award will be disbursed upon proof of college enrollment.
