If you applied for your 2010-2011 Volunteer Badge on the Tyler ISD website, they are in! Please come to the band hall on Tuesday, August 24th, from 4:30 to 6:30pm. You can pick your badge up from Mike Newsom. Remember, in order to chaperone you MUST have a volunteer badge to ride on the buses with the kids and help out during the football games. We are looking for parents to donate spray bottles and washcloths/hand towels. We are experimenting with creative ways to keep your children as safe as possible for the hot after school rehearsals. Parents, please be proactive with your child and their health. Hydration starts the night before, not at the first water break!!! AND, make sure your child eats a healthy lunch. Taking these steps are great start for our kids to be successful during this hot time of year. |

Back to School Bash, hosted by the Robert E. Lee PTA September 1 6:45-7:45pm This is a big event for the PTA, and our participation is really appreciated. Although this performance is on a Wednesday, I hope our students can all be in attendance. Rose Stadium Rehearsal/Parent Marcher Night Monday, September 13, 6-8pm/8-9pm Middle school football games are scheduled for the original date of the 7th at Rose. Hopefully this date change will not create too much hassle. This will give parents about a week longer to condition for their marching exhibition! |

We will be having our first general meeting of the REL Band Parents Association this coming TUESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2010 AT 6:00 PM. (Hopefully, we will meet in the Auditorium since there is usually a HIGH attendance at this meeting!) We will go over a lot of information and hopefully get an update from Mr. Castillo about the progress of the Band! I want to encourage you all to come and meet the Executive Board and Board of Directors. We welcome any questions you may have. A very important request! For those of you who took home sign up sheets to consider chaperoning football games, please return them to Sally Reed or Sheila Lee during this meeting. We need to be prepared for our first football game on 8/29/10. Also, we will be selling Spirit Items before and after the meeting. We will be taking orders and we will have some items (including some T-shirts) to take home with you. Show your support and "PRIDE" of the REL Red Raider Band! |
